Château Latour-Martillac White
2011
The 2011 Vintage
After a late and mild winter, drought set in until June, with summerlike temperatures from April. The result was an early flowering, from May 10th. By July 1st, the vegetation was three weeks ahead of its usual development. The vintage was then rescued by plenty of rain and cooler temperatures during July and August, with a late and slow ripening, which preserved flavor and freshness. The harvest then took place under a bright September sun.
Period of harvest
From August 18th to September 5th, 2011

Tasting notes
Wine Enthusiast – 93 pts (2012/04)
« Barrel sample. This wine is tight and taut, with minerality. Its fruit is heavily citrusy, with a character that cuts like steel through the nervy texture. This shows aging potential. »
Jeannie Cho Lee – 90-91 pts (2012/04)
« A linear, very focused white wine from Bordeaux with sharp pointed acidity which will no doubt soften in a few years. The palate has amazing depth and detailed flavours including star fruit and dragon fruit notes. Good concentration and layers of flavours. Very long, well made wine for long term aging. »
